Group portrait of members of No 2 Platoon, G Company, 6th Reinforcements of 2/2 Battalion at Greta Camp in the Hunter Valley, NSW prior to embarkation. The soldiers are grouped outside a Salvation Army centre, in front of a sign depicting a kangaroo and the words "Hop in. You're welcome." Captioned on the reverse is the sentiment "Farewell Sydney / We'll be back." This image is part of a series of photographs, letters and related items recording the service of NX14129 Private (Pte) Henry James Sparkes of Glebe, NSW. The reverse also carries the signatures of thirty-one men including Pte Sparkes.
