Studio portrait of 407436 Flying Officer (FO) Paul Coles Gunson of Adelaide, SA. FO Gunson enlisted in Adelaide on 12 October 1940, and served with 13 Squadron RAAF. On 1 October 1942, he was pilot of the Lockheed Hudson A16-243, which failed to complete a reconnaissance flight from Darwin to Koepang on the island of Timor. The entire crew was declared missing, presumed killed. FO Gunson has no known grave; his name is recorded on the Northern Territory Memorial at the Adelaide River War Cemetery near Darwin.
