Description

Informal portrait of Enid Moylan at the factory entrance of the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) Pty Ltd, at Lidcombe, NSW. CAC was an aircraft engine plant which made Pratt & Whitney engines for Beaufighter aircraft and later Roll Royce engines. Enid worked at CAC from 1942-1955, starting as a 17 year-old on a two week work experience placement from Miss Hales Business College, Sydney. She commenced as a shorthand typist and later became the secretary for Jack Balfour, Production Engineer. Enid Moylan's CAC identification badge is held by the Australian War Memorial. See REL40641.
