Fitzpatrick, Reginald Thomas (Able Seaman, b.1920 - )
Description
A letter and corresponding envelope written by Able Seaman Reginald T Fitzpatrick to his girlfriend Merle (later wife) from HMAS Melville in Darwin on 14 August 1942. Due to a shortage of appropriate writing material, the letter and envelope were written on thin sheets of wood shaving taken from pearling luggers which had been operating out of Darwin before the war.
