Studio portrait of NX23153 Private (Pte) Ian McColl Hawthorne, 2/10th Ordnance Field Park. A farmer from "Uley", Ardlethan NSW, Pte Hawthorne was a prisoner of war (POW) of the Japanese, working on the Burma Thailand railway where he died of illness on 28 December 1943.
