Studio portrait of 414721 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Ronald Keith McIntyre, 460 Squadron, of Mt Tyson, Qld. He was a farmer prior to enlisting on 8 November 1941. LAC McIntyre trained in Canada and England under the Empire Air Training Scheme and was promoted to Flying Officer (FO) on 4 June 1943. FO McIntyre was piloting Lancaster JB298 on a bombing mission to Berlin on the night of 29 December 1943 when the aircraft was shot down over Grosszeithen, Germany. FO McIntyre and all six other crew members were killed. FO McIntyre was 20 years of age.
