Reconnaissance sketch on folded graph paper delineated into 8 sections. Points of reference include: Chessboard trenches and Imbros (Sec. 1); Pope's Hill and The Razor Back, together with indications of a sunken road and tunnel (Sec. 2); Deadman's Ridge, Pope's Ridge, Quinn's Post, the hills of Asia Minor (Sec. 3); Shrapnel Gully and Mortar Ridge (Sec. 4); the main road to Maidos, Scrubby Ridge, Johnston's Jolly and Courtney's Post (Sec. 5); a poplar grove, dugouts, Turkish trench, Australian trench and Hill 600 (Sec. 6); Scissor trench, Deadman's field, Australian trenches, an olive grove and Achi Baba (Sec. 7); Gaba Tepe and Cape Helles (Sec. 8).
