Studio portrait of E. Thomas who is probably 19195 Private Evan Thomas, Army Medical Corps, an 18 year old dental assistant from Parkside, South Australia who enlisted on 28 June 1917. He embarked for overseas with the Medical Corps General Reinforcements from Melbourne on 28 February 1918 aboard HMAT Nestor. After serving in France with the 13th Field Ambulance and the 4th Division Headquarters, he arrived back in Australia on 7 September 1919. One of 131 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the First World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
