William Oliphant - 4175
Description
Studio portrait of 4175 Private (Pte) William Oliphant, 24th Battalion. A labourer from Richmond South, Vic prior to enlistment, Pte Oliphant embarked with the 10th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Wiltshire on 7 March 1916. On 25 December 1916 aged 25, he died of wounds received in action and was buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe , France.
