Studio portrait of QX3391 Lance Corporal (LCpl) George Percy Gosson of Gympie, Qld. Enlisting in the Second AIF in June 1940, LCpl Gosson served in the Pacific campaign with the 2/1st Headquarters Guard Battalion. He was captured by Japanese forces at Singapore in February 1942 and died of illness whilst a prisoner of war (POW) in Siam in June 1943. LCpl Gosson's elder brother, 1391 Private (Pte) Frank Gosson, 33rd Battalion, served in the First World War and was killed on Passchendaele Ridge on 14 October 1917, aged 22.
