Collection relating to the Second World War service of V83114 Private Charles ‘Charlie’ Wenlock, 3 Garrison Battalion, Australian Military Forces, Australia, c 1940-1942.
Wallet 1 of 1 – Consists of one notebook of an unknown Japanese serviceman that came into the possession of Private Charles Wenlock. This notebook, written in Japanese language, contains lyrics of popular Japanese songs, army instructions, recipes, and lists. This notebook is believed to have been used between 1940 and 1942. It is thought that Private Wenlock acquired this notebook during his service with 3 Garrison Battalion in Victoria, between 1940 and 1942.
