Order of the Sacred Treasure 7th Class lapel badge
Description
Order of the Sacred Treasure 7th Class lapel badge. A small rosette made from a piece of grey/blue ribbon, with a yellow diagonal cross in the centre and a copper button hole disc at the rear.
History / Summary
The Order of the Sacred Treasure (Zuihosho) is generally awarded to both Japanese and foreigners for long and meritorious service. From 1919 it could also be awarded to women on a ribbon bow. It ranks the lowest of the three main Japanese orders. The badge is worn on the lapel of the jacket in civilian dress. This badge is part of a collection obtained by the Australian Military History Section at Kure, Japan in 1952.
