History / Summary
Single tin of cheddar cheese taken from a Combat Ration Five Man (CR5M). This item is one component of a typical ration menu as developed by the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) at Scottsdale in Tasmania with reference to the latest findings in nutrition and food science. This particular example was packed in 2003/2004 and is typical of the rations supplied to Australian forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
