Description
An Iroquois helicopter of 9 Squadron hovering over a Landing Zone (LZ) after winching Raeburn Trindall in a stokes litter into the helicopter. Mr Trindall was filming this scene to illustrate a soldier's view of a medical evacuation (dustoff) as he is winched into the hovering helicopter. This is one of a series of stills recording the visit to Vietnam of the Commonwealth Film Unit team of Malcolm Smith, director, Raeburn Trindall, cinematographer and Howard Spry, sound recordist, in early October 1968 to shoot footage to be used in productions for the RAAF Golden Years 50th anniversary celebrations.
