Description

Hand made souvenir badge comprising a rosette of white silk ribbon with two tails, and a central white metal (possibly silver) button showing the Prince of Wales' feathers. A pair of sewing pins through the upper part of the rosette were presumably used to attach the badge to clothing.

History / Summary

Edward the Prince of Wales visited Australia in 1920 representing his father King George V. The purpose of his visit was to thank Australians for the role they played in the First World War. He was received warmly by the Australian public and was affectionately known as the ‘digger Prince’.
