Collection relating to the Second World War service of Aage Lorang Bergdahl, Merchant Navy, Norway, Australia, Ceylon, 1933-1989.

Collection includes:

1 x high school report, dated 16 June 1933;

1 x "identification card / seamen, shipwrecked through enemy action" issued by "The Norwegian Shipping and Trade Mission";

1 x merchant navy log book dated 24 October 1946, however documents Bergdahl's voyages from 27 May 1937 to 28 January 1947, including voyages stopping in Oslo, Bremen, Sydney, Melbourne, and Bristol (UK).

1 x facsimile of an extract from Bergdahl's service book spanning the period 27 May 1937 to 28 January 1947;

1 x Bergdahl's baptismal certificated from the Norwegian Church dated 7 August 1948;

2 x documents including a certificate relating to Bergdahl's Australian naturalization;

2 x medal receipts - one for the Norwegian Freedom Medal (REL36146.003), dated 22 April 1988, and one for the Norwegian War Participation Medal (REL36146.002); and

1 x letter from the Royal Norwegian Consulate General, NSW, regarding Bergdahl's War Disability Pension dated 27 September 1989;
