Minami Taiheiyô Jihô dai 37 gô [South Pacific News Bulletin No.37].
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia and the Netherlands East Indies. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue reports the bombing of the Japanese naval base of Palau, the landing of the Allied troops on several islands of the Palau Group, the landing of the Allied Forces on Morotai, and the attack on Japanese airfields in the Philippines and the Ogasawara Islands. It also reports the liberation of France and Belgium from German occupation and the fall of the pro-Nazi military governments in Rumania and Bulgaria. This bulletin also discusses the worsening shipping problems of Japan, the superiority of US air power and the death of Rear-Admiral Tsunoda in action.
