Description
A propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. The item is written in Japanese and was distributed to Melanesia, North and South Pacific. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue is dated 24 June 1944 and reports the death of Nakazato Kaizan, the bombing of Kyûshû, the air raids on the Bonin Islands and the Marianas, the landing of American troops on Saipan and the bombing of the mainland Japan by B-29 bombers. It also discusses the war situation in Burma and in Europe, and the Japanese naval losses to the end of 1944.
