Studio portrait of 3168 Private Athel Gregory Pike, 49th Battalion, of Rockhampton, Qld. Son of Walter Robert and Emma Pike, Brisbane, Qld. A packer prior to enlisting he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Warilda (A69) on 5 October 1915. He was killed in action in France on 13 August 1916, aged 20. He is buried in Serre Road Cemetery No 2, Serre, France..
