Kôgun shôhei shokun: shokun wa imaya koritsu muen nari [Japanese soldiers: You are deserted!]
Description
A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to Lae. It is accompanied by an English translation of the text. The message on the leaflet states that the Japanese troops in the Lae area are completely isolated after the Navy has deserted them. It warns that the situation will only become worse, because Japanese soldiers hiding in jungle will suffer from hunger and diseases from contaminated drinking water, and will be bombed, shelled or machine-gunned if following the tracks. The message stresses that the only hope for them is to make their way to the nearest Australian lines.
