Nihongun shôhei shokun [To officers and men of the Japanese Army].

A propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office (FELO) during the Second World War. This leaflet is written in Japanese and was distributed to New Guinea and Solomons Islands. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet reports that the Japanese leaders are broadcasting the danger and hardship of war in the jungles of New Guinea and the Solomons, while they are deserting the Japanese troops who suffer from that hardship in the South Pacific. The leaflet draws attention to the fact that Japanese leaders are aware of the difficulties of jungle warfare well enough to describe them to the Americans in some propaganda materials, even though they have failed to send support to their own troops in the jungle.
