Description
A Bell UH-1B Iroquois helicopter of No. 9 Squadron RAAF takes off from a landing zone in the northern part of the province after dropping off members of D (Delta) Company, 8RAR. The men, two of whom are in the long grass below the chopper, are taking part in Phase II of Operation Nudgee in collaboration with B and C Companies and the US 2nd Infantry Brigade, 25th Infantry Division. The Americans are sweeping a large area in the central west of the province looking for the Viet Cong D440 Provincial Mobile Battalion, with D Company to occupy a blocking position to the northeast of the Area of Operations.
