Description
An M113A1 Repair Fitters Vehicle of B Squadron, 1st Armoured Regiment Light Aid Detachment (LAD) RAEME, stands among the rubber trees at the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) base. The vehicle has been equipped with a heavy calibre machine gun and an armoured protective shield. Painted on the shield are the vehicle's call sign, 8E, and an image of the Disney cartoon character "Goofy". Carrying spare parts and tools, Repair Fitters Vehicles were used to service and repair tanks, armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and other heavy vehicles in the field.
