Army issue biscuit with image of five men outside a hut
Description
Standard rectangular 7 x 5 hole army biscuit. A small rectangular photograph, extremely faded, depicting five soldiers outside a hut has been inset and glued into a hollowed space on the face of the biscuit. The reverse has been marked with a red censor's stamp.

Army hard tack biscuits were so hard and durable that they were often used as the basis for letters and momentoes.
