Description

Three of the four large bronze busts of Saddam Hussein that were removed from the top of the Republican Palace, sitting in an American military transport area in the Green Zone. The busts were removed from the palace in December 2003 and one of the busts was ceremonially destroyed. The Green Zone is a heavily guarded area in central Baghdad and its borders are marked by razor wire, chain link fences and reinforced and blast proof concrete slabs, as well as many check points. A number of Iraqi government officials, as well as civilians work and live within the Green Zone.
