Description
Studio portrait of 3032 Private (later Corporal) Andrew Boyd, 24th (later 8th) Battalion, of Wodonga, Victoria. An acting accountant prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Commonwealth (A73) on 26 November 1915. He was killed in action near Hazebrouck, France in the Forest of Nieppe on 14 April 1918, aged 24. He is buried in the Nieppe-Bois (Rue-du-Bois) British Cemetery, Vieux-Berquin, France.
