The reverse is fitted with a folding pin attachment and dimpled stamping in gold.
This lapel badge was given to those who attended the 50th anniversary reunion for the Far East Strategic Reserve (FESR) Naval Association in Melbourne between 30 June and 3 July 2005. The design was by Les Bailey and the pins were manufactured in Queensland in a limited number. The FESR Association was formed in 1997. Les Bailey joined the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) on 28 February 1958. He served as both a full-time and part-time member of the RAN until he left on 20 March 1994 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
