Studio portrait of 1755 Private (Pte) Fred Sinton Hewitt, 8th Battalion of South Yarra, Vic. Pte Hewitt embarked with the 4th Reinforcements on 14 April 1915 on HMAT Wiltshire. He was killed in action on 18 August 1916, aged 22. He has no known grave and he is memorialised at Villers Bretonneux, France. This is a photograph from Sister Imlay's collection held in the Private Records Collection at PR87/107.
