Description

The RAAF airmen living in tent lines at Vung Tau Airfield, South Vietnam, have innocently created a status symbol when they called their ‘wet canteen’ ‘The Ettamogah Hotel’. No matter what country the Australian servicemen are posted to, there will always be the wet canteen tent, and it is usually named ‘Ettamogah’. Identified left to right: 43592 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Robin F (Robby) Gee, airframe fitter of Kingston, SA; 34528 Corporal (Cpl) Douglas Frederick (Doug) Bowie, of Sale, Vic; 19780 Cpl Kevin Thomas Seckington, of Rocklea, Qld; 43513 Cpl Raymond John (Ray) Bessen, of Port Pirie, SA; 221939 LAC Wayne Douglas Darcy, electrical fitter, of Neutral Bay, NSW; 44138 LAC John Alan Florence, of Somerton Park, SA; 19326 Cpl Kevin James Devine, of Goondiwindi, Qld.
