Description

Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX32792 Corporal Arthur Keeling Boyden, 2/12 Field Company, Engineers, Malaya, 1941 to 1943. The collection predominantly consists of 24 letters written by Daisy Boyden to her son, Corporal Arthur Boyden. The collection includes both the original handwritten letters and a typed transcription. Daisy wrote the letters from January 1942 to February 1943. During this time Boyden was interned as a POW in Changi, Singapore. The letters were never delivered to Boyden; they were kept for him when he returned home. The collection also includes four letters from Boyden’s children, Beverley and Ian. Plus there is one letter from Boyden to his mother, dated January 1941.
