Description

Portable 'Mikky Phone' gramophone in case. The case is made of deep drawn steel with a crackle black finish and has an adjustable plastic carry strap. The securing catch on the box is broken. The chrome-plated steel components of the self winding gramophone include a reproducer complete with steel needle, a crank with a bakelite handle, three arms on a rotating disc which support the record, and another arm to support the horn. These are set into a deep drawn chrome-plated steel base for compact storage and at the side is a dial to adjust the speed of the record. The steel horn is stored inside the lid of the case. The rubber on the bottom of the reproducer is cracked and deteriorated. Secured to the top of the reproducer is a tin label which reads 'Mikky PHONE' and a label on the front of the case reads 'Mikky PHONE Patent & Design'.
