Description

German aircraft fuel gauge. Manufacturer Huttenlocher Standmesser, Berlin, S.W.68. D.R.P.u. AUSL. PAT NO. 3. Serial No. 1566 is stamped into case. The dial continues around the white face. The outer characters are in black and measure to 137 and then red figures continue the capacity to 235 whence black again measures to 240 litres. Two needles indicate which line to follow.

The case is 125 mm in dia with the internal glass 100 mm dia. The instrument was fixed through two 65 mm dia holes at the top and bottom of the gauge. A pipe is moulded into the case at the top allowed connection to the fuel tank. The pipe has an external diameter of 15.5 mm and expands to a threaded connection. The base of the gauge is 111 mm dia with a elevated base 60.5 mm dia.
