This P-40E Kittyhawk (serial 41-5602) fighter fatally crashed on 28 March 1942 near Eden New South Wales when being flown by 2LT Neal T Takala, of the 8th Pursuit Squadron of the 49th Fighter Group United States Army Air Force.
