Description
When the rainy season started in Korea recently the Imjin River rose 25 feet overnight, and cut off a company of soldiers of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), camped on the far bank. Supplies had to be ferried across to them by flying fox. Here Captain (Capt) Philip (Phil) Harrington of Sydney, NSW, returns from making a hazardous trip across the flooded river to lay an emergency telephone cable. Capt Harrington, who is a former Ghurka officer, is now serving as a signals officer with 1RAR. The other soldiers are unidentified.
