Tripod for German 10 x 80 flak binoculars
Description
Aluminum tripod for German 10 x 80 flak binoculars. The legs of the tripod are extendable, and when closed are secured with leather straps.
History / Summary
Consigned in c 1947 from the United Kingdom to the Long Range Weapons Establishment, Salisbury, South Australia (now Defence Science and Technology Organisation). The tripod formed part of the plant equipment that was used for tracking at the Woomera Range during the Anglo-Australian Joint Project (1946-1980).
