Other rank's dismounted service breeches : Australian Army
Description
Australian Army other rank's dismounted service khaki wool twill breeches with self-fabric strapping on each inner knee. A pocket with a diagonal opening is let into the front of each hip. The buttons on the waistband and concealed fly are made from pressed brass. There is a pair of celluloid buttons on the outside of both legs on the cotton cuff. Both cuffs are extended with a band of khaki cotton twill. 'PTE J. MORGAN' been written inside the waistband twice in black ink. '130 W^D' has been stamped on the inside of the back left waistband. This mark is thought to be the original manufacturer's mark. 'AUSTRALIA' has been stamped above it, and '1917' is stamped on the inside of the back right waistband.
