Description
Troops of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) stationed in Japan are being put through their paces in final preparation for their entry into the Korean War. Wartime conditions were intensified by typhoon Kesia which struck the training area soon after the bivouac started. Despite the adverse conditions, the troops came through admirably in their first experience in Japan of the type of tactical conditions likely to be found in Korea. Two unidentified soldiers in a Bren gun carrier have paused to talk to another soldier leaning against the carrier (right).
