Anti climb hook : Changi Gaol
Description
Curved steel hook from the inner wall of Changi Gaol. The hook, which was previously cemented into the wall, appears to have been removed with a welding torch, giving a melted and discoloured finish to the end. The remainder of the surface is lightly corroded from exposure to the elements.
History / Summary
Steel hook originally attached to the inner wall of Changi Gaol to discourage attempts to climb over. The curved hook was cemented into the top of the wall, with its point facing downwards.
