"Operations in Gallipoli"
Description
Cartoon submitted for inclusion in "The Anzac Book", a publication which was produced in 1916 from works produced by soldiers on the Gallipoli peninsula. A sketch of damaged infrustructure at Gallipoli with the following press notice "We are consolidating our positions daily". It reflects the vast divide between the press reports and public perception of the operation and the reality. This cartoon was not used in the original publication.
