Cream silk handkerchief embroidered in one corner with the flags of Britain and Japan. Below the flags are two flowers and and the words in red 'Merry Christmas'.
History / Summary
This souvenir handkerchief marks the alliance between Britain and Japan during the First World War. It was sent to Kenneth Leal in Australia for Christmas 1916 from his two English cousins, Elsie and Winnie Webster from Stoke-on-Trent .
