McMeekin, John Franklin (Gunner)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 7379A Gunner John Franklin McMeekin MM. McMeekin served with 13th Battery, 5th Field Artillery Brigade in Egypt and the Western Front. Collection contains a diary in a leather case, covering dates in 1916 and 1917, including notes and remarks on operations and manoeuvres, a nominal roll of the 13th Battery, 5th Field Artillery Brigade, and a letter dated 21 December 1916, from McMeekin to his brother Jim. McMeekin was awarded the Military Medal, 19 November 1917.
