Other Ranks field grey woollen jacket : Infantry, German Army
German Army Infantry Other Ranks four pocket field grey woollen jacket with a plain stand and fall collar. The small pocket that has been let into each breast has a pointed buttoned flap. A large red crown is the only embellishment on the wide shoulder straps. The five, brown, painted, metal alloy, greatcoat buttons down the front opening bear the Prussian crown. Remnant stitching inside the jacket is an indication that the original buttons were replaced. The sleeves are turned back 160mm at the cuff. There are two copper plated buttons above the vent in the skirt at the back. The jacket is fully lined with grey cotton drill fabric, and a tape loop has been sewn into the back of both of the arm socket seams. Stamped inside the left panel near the top is '41, 11 / BAXIII / 1915 / (?)R 126'. A large pocket with a slit opening has been let into the lining of the left breast and there is a smaller one in the right breast which has a button hole at its opening but no button.
