Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of 412755 Leading Aircraftman George William Terry, 454 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, Middle East and Italy, 1944-1945.
Wallet 1 of 1 – Consists of two airgraph Christmas greetings and two letters. The Christmas greetings were sent in 1944 from Leading Aircraftman Terry to his parents, Mr D [name unknown] and Mrs Rita Terry, and to Nell Terry. The two letters were written by Padre James Frederick (Fred) McKay to the families of men serving with 454 Squadron in Italy. In his letters, dated 18 March and 15 June 1945, Padre McKay writes that the men are well and fit, they are doing their tasks excellently, they appreciate receiving mail, and they are looking forward to being home.
