Howard green stable belt : Company Sergeant Major J Bavell, New Zealand Anzac Battalion
Description
New Zealand Army Howard green stable belt with two scarlet stripes running parallel along the length. The belt also has chromed metal buckles and slide for adjustment, and black leather straps.
History / Summary
This belt was presented to 215220 Company Sergeant Major (CSM) Jules Bavell by the New Zealand Minister of Defence, The Honourable David Thomson, to mark his visit on Anzac Day 1970. Bavell was CSM of C Company and one of three NZ CSMs attached to 2 RAR/NZ Anzac Battalion at Nui Dat in Vietnam. Bavell served on two tours of Vietnam, from May 1967 until January 1968 and from May 1970 until June 1971.
