Outdoor portrait of NX8754 Corporal Desmond Grimley King, 2/2 Australian Infantry Battalion, who was killed in action on the Kokoda Trail, New Guinea, on 20 October 1942. Corporal King was born in Roseville, NSW, on 25 April 1917 and was an undergraduate at the University of Sydney studying engineering before enlisting in Sydney on 11 December 1939.
