Three unidentified RAAF servicemen smiling as they stand behind three Japanese soldiers, each one forced to mimic the humiliating pose of the three wise monkeys, following their capture at the end of the Second World War. A handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads: 'What we waited nearly four years to see. Three RAAF members demonstrate with the assistance of the Imperial Japanese Army the age old story of the three monkeys - speak no evil, hear no evil, see no evil.'
