Steel and brass winding handle for the Chelsea ships clock.
History / Summary
This clock winding key is associated with S/6942, Able Seaman Kaye Burton Smith, Royal Australian Navy. K B Smith was born on 7 August 1924 at Willoughby in NSW. He enlisted with the Navy at Sydney on 24 August 1942. He later qualified as a radar operator, and served aboard the heavy cruiser, HMAS Australia. His last posting was to HMAS Rushcutter, before he was discharged on 26 February 1946.
