[Japanese inn and musician]
Description
Second page in artist's sketchbook, depicting one large and two small drawings. The top drawing, ' Japanese inn and musician' depicts the interior of an inn or restuarant with three people sitting cross legged at a low table. At the end of the table a Japanese woman, dressed in traditional costume, plays a traditional stringed musical instrument, the shamisen. The two smaller drawings below are a profile sketch of the woman's head (left) and a rear view of the woman, dressed in traditional costume (right).
