Description

Aerial view of the bomb ravaged German city of Braunschweig (Brunswick). This image was taken from a Lancaster bomber, flying at an altitude of approximately 800 feet. The Lancaster was piloted by 430033 Flight Lieutenant Alexander Elliott (Alex) Jenkins, RAAF, who was flying a group of senior British RAF Officers on an inspection tour of bomb damaged areas of Germany one month after hostilities ceased.
