Description
Portrait of 1619 Private (Pte) Herbert Clemdon (Herb) Blyton, 2nd Reinforcements, 54th Battalion, of Bathurst, NSW, aged 21 years. Pte Blyton enlisted on 8 January 1916 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ceramic on 14 April 1916. He was killed in action on 15 May 1917 in Bullecourt, France. His brother, 1618 Bertrude Leopold Blyton, also of the 54th Battalion, was also killed in action during the Battle of Bullecourt. He died on 15 May 1917, the same day as his brother.
